One of the great events we covered this week

Big Hit! 2013 Sustainable School Summit
It was the Who's Who when it comes to the future of sustainable education in New England this past weekend at Salve Regina University's beautiful campus in Newport, Rhode Island, for NEEEA's annual conference.

Spirits were high and the people were plenty and you could tell right away that this event had something special to it. What it came down to was the sense that change is in the air and progress is being made. Maybe it was because earlier in the week, Senator Ed Markey introduced The American Renewable Energy and Efficiency Act, which again reinforces that progress is being made. Or maybe it was David Orr, the keynote speaker who so effectively spoke and illustrated the importance of sustainability and everyones role in it. Whatever it may have been, there is no denying that if you attended this event, you not only networked with key people, but you also left more informed, and hopefully inspired, to begin putting to good use what you learned.

ReNewable Now was able to cover the conference and we will be presenting a new video every week for the next four weeks. We will be starting off with interviews and presentation and will end with the Keynote address by David Orr. We want to also thank our Special Guest Host, Jim Murphy, Rhode Island College's Sustainability Director for filling in for Peter Aprin. Thanks Jim.
